Psalm 119:11 (NLT) — 11 I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

My granddaughters love Juicy’s. They are little packets of strained fruit, like applesauce, that you take the top off and squeeze into your mouth like a tube of tooth paste to get out all the fruit. They love applesauce and they really do squeeze every bit of it out of the tube.

Sometimes to get every bit of spiritual nutrition out of a verse one must squeeze it by reading it sloooowly. Read the first word and then ponder it. Read the first and second word and then ponder those two and so on. It goes like this with our memory verse:

I

I have

I have hidden

I have hidden your word

I have hidden your word in

I have hidden your word in my

I have hidden your word in my heart

I have hidden your word in my heart that I

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

Does that verse mean more to you now? Does it seem more personal? Do you now own this verse? Did you see something there that you hadn’t seen before? Do you have any more insight? If nothing else you probably now have it memorized:)
