November 1/Hebrews 13

Most of this chapter is about faith expressing itself in love.

Galatians 5:6 (NLT) — 6 For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love.

Verse 1 > Jesus didn’t keep his love to himself and neither should we.

Verse 2 > Us expressing the love of God is what will draw people to God. Use discretion.

Verse 3 > Love bears one another’s burdens.

Verses 4 > Love is faithful.

Verse 5-6 > Love shows itself in contentment. If you have God you have everything.

Verse 7 > Love listens and obeys good teaching from the word.

Verse 8 > Love is Jesus to the core. With the Holy Spirit within us love is at our core, always!

Verse 9 > Love and embrace the grace of God.

Verses 10-14 > Love leaves anything that would take you away from Jesus.

Verse 15 > Love always and I mean always not matter what offers praise to God.

Verse 16 > Love changes the world by doing good to others. It knows better than to rely on the political system for good godly change.

Verse 17 > Love is grateful for spiritual leadership and does what it can to encourage them to remain faithful to the word of God.

Verses 18-21 > Love prays and love blesses!

Verses 22-25 > Love pays attention to what the word of God says.

How are you doing with the Love God has entrusted you with?

  1. Mark Gundersen says:

This chapter stresses the actions that should flow out of the faith praised in the last few chapters. The last few verses suggest that this epistle may have been written at the end of Paul’s first enprisonment.
