December 21 & 22/Revelation 15 & 16

Hi good people of Hilltop. I am going to take Chapters 15 & 16 together because they flow together. Also I am having rotator cuff surgery today and I might not be up to doing a blog tomorrow. Please pray that the surgeon will do an excellent job. Pray that I will recover well with my shoulder being 100% healed. Thank you.

Chapter 15 opens up with God’s people, those who didn’t give in to the beast and his statue even though they went through terrible times, singing praises unto the Lord. Singing the song of Moses which was victory song because the Egyptian army had been defeated and soon Satan and his army would be defeated. Chapter 16 closes with the beasts followers, those who sang his praises to begin with and worshiped him, cursing Almighty God. And so it is today; God’s people praise him and those who don’t know him curse and blame him when trouble comes their way. God cannot be mocked we will harvest what we plant as is shown very vividly in these two chapters.

Galatians 6:7 (NLT) — 7 Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.

Worship God and reap of future of singing. Don’t worship God and reap a future of cursing.

Chapter 16 verses 3-7 > God’s punishment always fits the crime. Pharaoh drowned Jewish babies and his whole army was drowned. Haman built a gallows to hang Mordecai but he himself was hanged. King Saul refused to kill all of the Amalekites as God had commanded so he was killed by an Amalekite.

Verses 8-11 > Theses people can barely speak because of all the pain they are going through but instead of using their breath to call on the name of the Lord to be saved; they curse him instead. Here I believe we have an example of the unpardonable sin. When people refuse the promptings of the Holy Spirit year after year after year; their hearts become as hard as tombstones and this is what will be engraved on their tombstones > “But they did not repent of their evil deeds and turn to God.” Nothing will turn them to God and therefore their sin is Unpardonable. As long as Jesus hasn’t come back people have a chance to receive him.

Verse 15 > stay true to Jesus no matter how bleak things in this life are; he is coming back just like he said he would. Those who endure to the end will be saved. Keeping your clothing ready is just another way of saying to keep doing good and keep yourselves from being stained by the world.

James 1:27 (NLT) — 27 Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. My italics.

Verses 16-21 > they say that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Do you see how insane it is to not follow Jesus. Satan continues to fight Jesus year after year even though he knows he can’t win. His followers continue to fight with him even they have not been able to stop heaven from being unleashed upon them. So now Satan gathers all the people of the world together to fight against Israel and against all believers to determine who will ultimately rule. But it really isn’t a contest. Sin really does skew a person’s thinking. Heaven is unleased again and the results are always the same > those against heaven lose! There are those around us today that continue to fight against Jesus. The will not bow to him and they will lose. Look at how people fight against using the name of Jesus at Christmas.

If you are a follower of Jesus you are not insane, your future contains singing songs so victory. If you are not a follower of Jesus your future contains curses of defeat. Do yo want to sing or do you want to curse? As they say, “the choice is yours.”

  1. Mark Gundersen says:

We see a repeat of some of the plagues of Egypt occurring again. Boils, blood and darkness unfortunately produce the same results for unbelievers. The only difference is that by the end times there is no false repentance seen. The last bowl removes any high ground for Satan to look down on the world from.
Praying for a successful surgery for you and a rapid recovery in PT.
