John 1:14 (NLT) — 14 So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

Samuel D. Gordon, “Jesus is God spelling himself out in language man can understand.”

Man can understand unfailing love but the problem is that man hadn’t really seen that love up close and personal until Jesus came along. Man can understand faithfulness but again man had never really seen perfect faithfulness until Jesus became human. Man can understand someone being for him but he never really saw someone being for him when he was doing everything to be against them until Jesus walked into our lives and pitched his tent among us. Jesus is the universal language that everyone can understand.

Joan Osborne sang a song in the 90’s titled “One of us”. Some of lyrics are >

If God had a name what would it be?
And would you call it to his face?
If you were faced with Him in all His glory
What would you ask if you had just one question?

And yeah, yeah, God is great
Yeah, yeah, God is good
And yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah

What if God was one of us?

Well Joan his name is Jesus and yes you can call him that at any time. You can ask him any question you want. Jesus modeled perfect greatness in all the things he did and Jesus is the epitome of goodness. There is no ‘What if God was one of us’. The good news is that God isn’t mad at us and he came to be one of us to the point of pitching his tent among us! And our God is very, very, personal and right now for those who believe in Jesus he is preparing a place for us in heaven which will be much more permanent than a tent.

John 14:1–2 (NLT) — 1 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?

With God in your tent you can weather any storm.
