John 1:1 (NLT) — 1 In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Just a little story about how this verse impacted a young lady’s life > Georgia Gordon, who grew up in the deep South in the days of slavery, received no education as a young girl. But one day she heard a preacher reciting John 1:1. Deeply impressed, she memorized the verse; and when she got home, she asked someone who could read to point out the verse in the Bible. She studied it until she could recognize the words one by one, and she searched through the Bible for others like them. In this way, little by little, she learned to read. She later became a brilliant student at Fisk University in Nashville and one of the famous Jubilee Singers from Fisk who introduced Black Spirituals to the world.  J. B. T. The word of God is just as alive as Jesus is. This word can bring life to our souls and direction to our lives just like Jesus did with Georgia Gordon. When you open your bible it is like sitting down with Jesus and listening to him speak. This morning I was reading in Acts chapter 24 and I got to the 16th verse where Paul was saying >”I always try to maintain a clear conscience before God and all people.” I stopped and thought about that and it was as if Jesus was saying to me, “Dan that is the way I want you to live.” And I said, “Jesus that is the way I want to live also and I want the Holy Spirit to help me.” Cool right, me and Jesus having a conversation. Don’t you just love a God who comes right where you are to have a conversation with you?  Everyone anywhere can converse with The Word of God!

Psalm 119:26 (NLT) — 26 I told you my plans, and you answered. Now teach me your decrees.

The psalmist here was talking with the Lord and telling him his plans. But then he stops and asks the Lord for his plans. If we stay in the Word of God Jesus will reveal his plans to us if we are willing to listen.
