Romans 5:8 (NLT) — 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Years ago it was popular to have ‘come as you parties’. So no matter what you were wearing at the time(hopefully clothes) you got the invitation you were to come to the party. You may have had your work clothes on with dust in your hair, or perhaps work out clothes, or pajamas, or motorcycle leathers, or swimwear , or paint on your clothes, hands, and face etc. It didn’t matter what you wore you didn’t have to change or clean up for this party.

Well in a sense God threw a party for us. He invited us to come to his son for the forgiveness of sins. We were to come as we are dirty sins and all. There is no changing into religious acting attire, no doing good works, no trying to cleanse our selves with a shower of good behavior. Jesus would clean us up with his blood and give us new clothing called a rope of righteousness.

Everybody comes as they are. No one is more well received than another. Perverts, gossipers, murders, the ungrateful, the religious, the inconsiderate, the prideful, those considered good people, what ever your attire you are urged to come. It is a level playing field for all, so to speak. Now you get a better picture of the wonderful, extravagant, expectation less love of God! Regardless of our response to the invitation God loves us.

There is never time that you are not loved by God.

Luke 14:21–23 (NLT) — 21… ‘Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’ 22 After the servant had done this, he reported, ‘There is still room for more.’ 23 So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full.

John 3:16 (NLT) — 16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
