1 John 5:12 (NLT) — 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.

The past couple of weeks have been ‘Spring Clean-up’ in Fergus Falls. At this time of year they let you bring items that you are not using anymore to the landfill for free; things like appliances, tires, televisions, computers, scrap wood, metal, sheet rock, etc. The catch was that you had to have a ticket. The ticket was in the Fergus Journal and on the ticket it listed the items that you could bring along with the quantity of that item. So if you were bringing fluorescent bulbs that limit was 6 bulbs or if it was refrigerators you were limited to two, etc. Also you had to write on the ticket you home address so they would know what ward you were in. Each ward had its designated days that you could bring your things to the landfill.

I live in Ward 3 so my days for bringing items was May 22-23. I loaded stuff up in my and took it to the landfill where I presented my ticket and they took my unwanted stuff free of charge. I also hauled some of my mothers stuff using her ticket for her things. It was a good deal that saved us a few dollars. I left with a full van and came back empty. Again, if you had the ticket and you came on the right day your stuff was taken for free.

Our memory verse states that if you have Jesus you have life and according to last weeks verse this is eternal life that starts now. You don’t need to wait for a special day to receive Jesus. You don’t have to have a ticket for him to take  your stuff like sin, sickness, disease etc. You don’t have to write down your address because he knows exactly where you live. You are not limited to the amount of sin, sickness, and disease that you can give to Jesus. He is the ticket and he is good for all time not just on designated days. And it is unlimited of what you can bring to him. There is never a charge because Jesus paid it all with his blood on the cross. So as you unload all your stuff on Jesus you never come back empty as I did with my van. No, you come back filled with grace and mercy!

What a deal! What a value. What a Jesus. Who do you know that needs to hear about what Jesus can offer for free?
