1 John 5:12 (NLT) — 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.

Have you ever heard that expression; he or she is the ‘life of the party’? What do people mean when they say that? They probably mean that the person is very sociable, energetic, enthusiastic, and fun to be around. That person is probably the reason most of the people come to the party. That person makes the party worth going to and when you leave the party you don’t feel empty or that you wasted your time.

When Jesus walked this earth he certainly was the life of the party. He brought life where there was death. He brought hope where there was despair. He brought fullness where there was hunger, love where there was anger, forgiveness where there was condemnation. Sinners loved hanging around Jesus for all of the above reasons.

Would you be accused of being the life of the party? Not that you have to be the center of attention; however as a Christian you are filled with the Holy Spirit, the very life of Jesus. Are people better off because you were with them? Do people feel safe hanging around you? When you leave do you leave a good taste in people’s mouths? When people see you in the grocery store do they come up to greet you or do they turn and go down another aisle to avoid you?

Do your kids like hanging out with you? Are they willing to bring their friends home? Do your words bring life or death? Are the lines on your face from smiling or frowning:) Do you do more talking than listening?

John 6:68 (NLT) — 68 Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life.

If we have the Son we have life. Let’s be life and bring life where ever we are.
