John 14:6 (NLT) — 6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

We live in a pluralistic society. A society of many choices. As I said a few weeks ago many choices can be stressful and confusing. A pluralistic approach to politics embraces many different philosophies such as socialism, communism, and capitalism. A pluralistic approach to medicine and healing embraces prescription drugs, herbs, vitamins, aromatherapy, acupuncture etc. A pluralistic approach to religion embraces, Mormonism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity etc. We have so many choices when it comes to athletic training, work-out programs, diets. Again this can get stressful and confusing.

So when it comes to getting to heaven our Father God in his love for us made it very simple. There is no pluralism here. This really is a one size fits all plan and we can be assured that is works. God isn’t into gimmicks.

Of course we will be accused of being very narrow minded when we tell people that there is only one way to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ. But that’s ok because it is the truth and it does lead to life. And besides we didn’t come up with this plan, God did. We are just the messengers.

Acts 4:11–12 (NLT) — 11 For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’ 12 There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”

We have the true plan. We have the truth. We have life. We have Jesus!

  1. So good. No stress to make a decision and no confusion as to whether the choice is right. Just an easy-for-all-to-understand message of salvation…Jesus. Simple! I used to tell my kids when they were young that some things were as ‘easy as toast’. I thought pies were a ton of work. Guess the message fits into the easy as toast category, while a lot a people are making it hard as pie. (sigh)
