Philippians 4:6 (NLT) — 6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

Thanksgiving day is coming up this Thursday so it seemed good to me and the Holy Spirit to have a verse that included thanksgiving.

Personally I believe we should all be able to thank the Lord that we have no worries, right? People that don’t have a relationship with Jesus have all kinds of worries but the Christ-Follower has none; or at least we shouldn’t. Our memory verse says, “Don’t worry about anything.” So if we are going to obey God’s word we have no worries. We can’t have any worries because worry was never meant for us. Worry is strictly for those who are not Christ-Followers. Worries are like illegal drugs; they should never be in our possession. The consequences of being found with illegal drugs are not good for us. In fact by having illegal drugs one might also get hooked on the drugs and that would be a terrible consequence. Worries are like illegal drugs to the Christ-Follower and to be hooked on worries would have terrible consequences.

Here is another reason why the Christ-Follower has no worries:

1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) — 7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

The Christ-Follower is bankrupt when it comes to worries because she has given them all away to God. And all of us Christ-Followers can be thankful that God isn’t going to give them back! Once he takes them they are his.

When my granddaughters come over to my house, they may not know it but subconsciously they have given all of their worries to me. When they are hungry I feed them, no need to worry. When they take off their shoes and run around bare foot I have already cleaned the floor and have the heat on if it is cold outside, no need to worry. When they run to any room in the house their is no one hiding there to harm them, grandpa has a safe house, no need to worry.

They can turn on all the lights so that they can see better, grandpa has paid the electric bill, no need to worry. When they are thirsty grandpa has clean filtered water for them to drink, no need to worry. When they want to play grandpa has plenty of toys, dolls and coloring books on hand, no need to worry. When they spill their milk grandpa says its ok and he smiles and laughs as he cleans it up, no need to worry. When it comes to nap time grandpa has their favorite blankets to cover them and good beds for them to sleep in, no need to worry. In fact because grandpa is a responsible grandpa they don’t have to worry about anything.

The moment we became a Christ-Follower we stepped in Father God’s house. Our heavenly Father is a responsible father and so us kids have nothing to worry about. So as you head into this week towards Thanksgiving Day be thankful that you don’t have any worries:)

Be Inspired Hilltop!

This verse is one of my favorite verses. It talks about my relationship with Jesus. I can pray about everything. If I am worried I can pray about it instead of hanging onto the worry. My grandmother was a professional worrier. She instilled self pity into everyone. Sometimes I forget that I vowed never to be like her. When I fall into self pity I know I have given into worry. The antidote for self pity is gratitude. This verse has the antidote. Pray about everything and give thanks. I just love the Word.
