1 Corinthians 1:30 (NLT) — 30 God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.

When I first became a Christian some told me if I would personalize scripture by inserting my name into the passage it would mean more to me and help to increase my faith; for instance with John 3:16

John 3:16 (NLT) — 16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

So this is how I was taught to personalize this verse > For this is how God  loved Dan. He gave his one and only Son, so that Dan who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. This verse now takes on a real personal meaning to me. It makes this verse come alive and it puts a smile on my face. How about doing his with our memory verse?

God has united Dan with Christ Jesus. For Dan’s benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made Dan right with God; he made Dan pure and holy, and he freed Dan from his sin. Wow God knows me personally from all the people that are in the world. He placed me in Jesus and Jesus was made wisdom for my benefit. I get to benefit from the wisdom of Jesus. If I need wisdom I just ask and it is mine because Jesus was made wisdom specifically for me. I have right standing with God. I can go boldly to God and ask for anything because me and God are on good terms because of what Jesus did.

I am holy and pure. There is not a single thing wrong with me that I should be ashamed of because Jesus made me pure and holy. I am no longer a puppet on sin’s string. Jesus cut the string and I am now free. He did all of this for me, Dan. I’ve got it made in the shade as they say:)

Why not get into personalizing scripture and watch your faith come alive and your face begin to smile:)

When I am praying for others I often pray the scriptures and insert their name into it. It never really occurred to me to do this for myself. Wow, it really does make the scriptures more relevant to me when I do that. Thanks for that Pastor Dan!
