Matthew 1:21 (NLT) — 21 And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”

Lets continue to talk about Jesus’ salvation which includes healing our spirit, soul, and body. In other words when we receive Jesus as savior he pours his life into our lives so that we are healed physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally. Through faith it is possible to go through life and handle it like Jesus did.

Jesus handled life by the power of the Holy Spirit. He did all of his miracles through the power of the Holy Spirit. He did not do them through the power of his being the second person in the Trinity. Look at the following verses.

Philippians 2:5–8 (NLT) — 5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. 6 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. 7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, 8 he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

Notice that he gave up his divine privileges. In other words he didn’t use his God Power. So how did he do what he did?

Luke 3:21–22 (NLT) — 21 One day when the crowds were being baptized, Jesus himself was baptized. As he was praying, the heavens opened, 22 and the Holy Spirit, in bodily form, descended on him like a dove. And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy.”

Acts 10:38 (NLT) — 38 And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

The Holy Spirit kept Jesus free from sickness and he enabled Jesus to heal every one else also. Jesus was watered baptized and then he was baptized by the Holy Spirit the same way we get baptized in water and by the Holy Spirit. So Jesus didn’t go out and begin his ministry until he was baptized by the Holy Spirit. Now you know why he didn’t want his disciples going out until they had been baptized by the Holy Spirit.

Luke 24:49 (NLT) — 49 “And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.”

Acts 1:8 (NLT) — 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Once you have been baptized by the Holy Spirit you have the same power available to you as Jesus had. You have the same power to say no to sin that Jesus had. You have the same power to keep you healthy as Jesus had and You have the same power to heal that Jesus had. Listen to the following verses:

Romans 8:2 (NLT) — 2 And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.

Romans 8:11 (NLT) — 11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.

John 14:12 (NLT) — 12 “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.

The Holy Spirit will give the same life he gave to Jesus to our mortal bodies; mental health, physical health, and spiritual health. With the power of the Holy Spirit at our disposal we are able to do the same works that Jesus did and even greater works. Do I and do you believe this?

John 11:40 (NLT) — 40 Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?”

Mark 11:22–23 (NLT) — 22 Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God. 23 I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.

Matthew 17:20 (NLT) — 20 Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”

“Holy Spirit give to me and my people the same faith that you gave to Jesus, and then help us to use your anointing to go out and do good and heal all who are oppressed by the devil. Thank you.”
