Exodus 11:2 (NLT) — 2 Tell all the Israelite men and women to ask their Egyptian neighbors for articles of silver and gold.”

The Egyptians really were indebted to the Israelites. For centuries the Israelites served the Egyptians without any compensation and now the Lord was going to make things right. If you feel like you have been taken advantage of cheated in this life even though you have faithfully served the Lord, hang in there because one day the Lord will make it right.

Although it doesn’t realize this, the world we live in owes much to the community of faith, the Church. The building of hospitals and orphanages, the elevation of women, the dismantling of slavery, the institution of public education all find their roots in the church. As imperfect and as flawed  as we are the church has had a huge influence on world history, for wherever the gospel has gone, great change has followed. Because of the godly influence of the church and the prayers of God’s people things are not as bad as they could be.

I don’t the order of when the rapture will take place but I would not want to live in this world when the church is taken up to heaven. “Thank you Jesus for the church and thank you Jesus that you called me to part of the church.”

Exodus 11:7 (NLT) — 7 But among the Israelites it will be so peaceful that not even a dog will bark. Then you will know that the Lord makes a distinction between the Egyptians and the Israelites.

The world cannot copy the peace of a Christian. Jesus, the Christians Savior, is the Prince of Peace. This peace in our lives should be very noticeable.

Exodus 12:2 (NLT) — 2 “From now on, this month will be the first month of the year for you.

In a Christian’s life nothing matters before the day of salvation. Life begins when you are ‘born again’. Now your life counts for something. Now all that is done in the name of our Lord Jesus will matter for eternity.

Exodus 12:9 (NLT) — 9 Do not eat any of the meat raw or boiled in water. The whole animal—including the head, legs, and internal organs—must be roasted over a fire.

We must assimilate all of Jesus into our lives. We allow him to rule and reign from within. He’s the boss.

Exodus 12:10 (NLT) — 10 Do not leave any of it until the next morning. Burn whatever is not eaten before morning.

Jesus said, “It is finished.” There was nothing left for him to do. Nothing was to remain until morning. In other words there is nothing to add to our salvation. It isn’t Jesus plus good works or Jesus plus attending church, or Jesus plus so many prayers. The salvation of our souls is just to put our faith in Jesus period.

Exodus 12:11 (NLT) — 11 “These are your instructions for eating this meal: Be fully dressed, wear your sandals, and carry your walking stick in your hand. Eat the meal with urgency, for this is the Lord’s Passover.

There is no lingering in sin. We are moving on from our old way of life. We are not slaves of sin or satan anymore. This world now is not our home. We are just traveling through, heaven is our destination. We are not here to settle down and get comfortable within the worlds way of doing things > The American Dream. No we are here to make disciples for the kingdom of God. We are here to raise our kids for Jesus, for service not for comfort.

Exodus 12:15 (NLT) — 15 For seven days the bread you eat must be made without yeast. On the first day of the festival, remove every trace of yeast from your homes. Anyone who eats bread made with yeast during the seven days of the festival will be cut off from the community of Israel.

This seven days is represented of a lifestyle committed to the Lord and not committed to sin. Leaven was a picture of sin. We are not to indulge in our old appetites we are now feasting on the Lamb of God. We are assimilating the nature and character of Jesus into every area of our lives. We are new creatures in Christ we are dead to the old way of living.

How can you tell if you are dead? The same way they found out that Christ was dead. They shoved a spear in his side and out poured blood and water. If you are dead you won’t react negatively when someone shoves a spear in your side(does something you don’t like), instead out from you will come the blood of forgiveness and water of refreshment, then you will know that you have died!

Exodus 12:21 (NLT) — 21 Then Moses called all the elders of Israel together and said to them, “Go, pick out a lamb or young goat for each of your families, and slaughter the Passover animal.

God picked Jesus as our Passover Lamb and Jesus picked us to be his brothers and sisters. Wow!
