Galatians 2:21 (NLT) — 21 I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.

So how do we treat the Grace of God as meaningless. Paul was talking about the people that had come to Galatia who were telling the Christians there that in order to be saved they also must be circumcised. In other words Jesus + circumcision =salvation. They also said that the laws of Moses must also be kept. So now the formula was Jesus + circumcision + the laws of Moses = salvation.

Paul would have none that because he knew that it was only through the grace of God that we are saved by believing in Jesus. Any other way would nullify God’s grace and the work of Jesus. We were made right with God the moment we believed in Jesus. You can’t be anymore right with God; so if you are still trying to make up for some bad things that you did to be made right with God like bible reading, going to church, being a good person, praying, and helping little old ladies cross the street etc. you are treating the Grace of God as meaningless.

If you believe you can’t come boldly to God in prayer because you blew it and let your anger get the best of you, you are treating the grace of God as meaningless. If you don’t believe that it is God’s will to heal, yes even you, you are treating the grace of God as meaningless. If you are judging another Christian for their behaviors and in your heart you are critical of them, you are treating the grace of God as meaningless.

If you believe that God loves you more when you live a godly life than when you don’t you are treating the grace of God as meaningless. If you feel like you can’t witness to some people about Jesus because they know your past, you are treating the grace of God as meaningless. If you have allowed yourself to be offended by someone else or an organization, you are treating the grace of God as meaningless. If we refuse to pursue Agape we are treating the grace of God as meaningless.

If it wouldn’t be for the grace of God we all would have been done away with long ago. But we are here today, living, breathing, functioning human beings all because of the grace of God. Every thing we are and everything we have we owe to the grace of God. Now if you don’t believe that you are treating the grace of God as meaningless.

Acts 13:43 (NLT) — 43 Many Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, and the two men urged them to continue to rely on the grace of God.

I urge you all to do the same:)
