Proverbs 7:1 (NLT) — 1 Follow my advice, my son; always treasure my commands.

The key to winning at life is to not just know what the bible says, but to follow what it says. You won’t follow God’s word until you see it as treasure. Fast and pray and ask God to give you an accurate picture of His word. Purpose in your heart that today will be the day that you will follow his word with all your heart. With the power of His Holy Spirit you will make the effort.

The Father calls me his son. I am loved and cherished. I am special. I am here to uphold the family name and make Jesus famous. The Lord is my shepherd and as I follow his word I am following Him and I am always in his immediate care.

Proverbs 7:2 (NLT) — 2 Obey my commands and live! Guard my instructions as you guard your own eyes.

Our time spent in the Word must be guarded. There are many things that will want to take the place of spending time reading and studying the bible. Don’t let them take your time. Heavily guard that time. Guard it like you guard your eyes from the sun with sun glasses or from flying filings with a face shield when grinding metal. God’s teaching must be the central focus of our vision and attention.

Proverbs 7:3 (NLT) — 3 Tie them on your fingers as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart.

Keep God’s word close by. Preserve the scriptures in your memory so you can recall them with ease. Talking about the eyes, arms and heart in these verses, is the whole person involved in learning wisdom and obeying the teachings of the Lord.

Proverbs 7:4 (NLT) — 4 Love wisdom like a sister; make insight a beloved member of your family.

As you would spend time with your family and live with them and develop relationships with them; spend time with the word, live it out, develop a relationship with the living Word > Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 7:5 (NLT) — 5 Let them protect you from an affair with an immoral woman, from listening to the flattery of a promiscuous woman.

The word is powerful enough to keep you from sin. Jesus is the living word. His power is unlimited. The Holy Spirit of God lives in the word of God. So let the word catch your ear and not flattery.
John 6:63 NLT63The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
2 Timothy 3:16 NLT16All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

Proverbs 7:7 (NLT) — 7 I saw some naive young men, and one in particular who lacked common sense.

I guess common sense isn’t so common:)

Proverbs 7:12 (NLT) — 12 She is often in the streets and markets, soliciting at every corner.

Sin is every where. Be alert.

Proverbs 7:13 (NLT) — 13 She threw her arms around him and kissed him, and with a brazen look she said,

Sinners are bold and we need to be just as bold for the Lord.

Proverbs 7:15 (NLT) — 15 You’re the one I was looking for! I came out to find you, and here you are!

The wrong crowd always makes you seem special and feel accepted when others shun you. It is important for Christians to be accepting without compromising.

Proverbs 7:16 (NLT) — 16 My bed is spread with beautiful blankets, with colored sheets of Egyptian linen.

Sin is usually packaged well. It is made to look attractive, it appeals to the senses. So have the sense to stay away.

Proverbs 7:27 (NLT) — 27 Her house is the road to the grave. Her bedroom is the den of death.

If you don’t go in the house you can’t go into the bedroom and if you can’t get into the bedroom you can’t get into the bed. Stay away from the area where the house is and you will stay out of trouble.
