Psalm 85:7 (NLT) — 7 Show us your unfailing love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation.

The Psalmist must have been from the state of Missouri; you know the ‘show me’ state:) Well God did show us His unfailing love and He did grant us our salvation > Jesus. With the sacrifice of His son God truly did show the world that he wants all people to be saved. He does not want anyone to perish. Jesus should have been proof of that.

Those who refuse to receive Jesus are in for a very terrible eternal punishment. The punishment will be well deserved because to get there they will have had to step over the body of Jesus and wade through his blood. Think about that and picture it in your mind. God made it as difficult as he could for people to go to hell and yet there are those who will step over that merciful body and wade through that precious blood all in defiance of a holy God.

Thank God today for his unfailing love and his salvation. Thank him that he saved you from taking that foolish step.

Today we started reading Revelations. When I finished the first chapter I started thinking about the Bible as a whole. It starts with the past…the history.. of mankind and reveals to the reader that God has a plan to save his creation. Throughout the Old Testament, that plan is being revealed. And then we get to the Gospels and Acts and the epistles. We could call that the present because it brings to life the plan of salvation and gives us a roadmap on how to live our lives in the present. And now we are reading about God’s plan for the future. The Bible is the complete revelation of God’s love for all of mankind. People search and search for their past and future thinking it will somehow fulfill the present. And it has been right in front of them all along….all they have to do is pick up the Book. I am so grateful for the Word…that it is living and full of the truth.
