Joshua 1:8 (NLT) — 8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

When little kids have their birthdays we usually put the number so candles on their cake to correspond to how old their are. Then we have them make a wish and blow out the candles. Supposedly if they are able to blow out all the candles their wish will come true. It is all done if fun with nobody really believing that the wish will come true.

If I could have a wish that would come true I would wish that everyone in the world would obey our above verse. Think how this action on the part of everyone would change our world. We all know how important our thoughts are. Our bodies only go where are minds have already been. So if a person was studying and meditating on thou shall not commit murder then murder would not take place. That person wouldn’t commit murder because that thought wouldn’t be in his or her mind.

We all know this is true because at one time or another we have probably said, “O if I would have thought of that I would have done it and it would have saved me a lot of money. Or it would have saved so much time. Or it would have made the job easier.” Or or or etc.

What if everyone was meditating on “You must be born again. Or be kind to one another, tenderhearted forgiving each other just as God in Christ Jesus has forgiven you. Or you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and your neighbor as yourself”.

Proverbs 23:7 (NASB95) — 7 For as he thinks within himself, so he is.

Okay so my wish may not come true but we can still change our little space in the world by the thoughts that we allow to come into our minds. For instance if you are having a down, depressing day what are the thoughts that you are meditating on? If you are holding a grudge what are the thoughts that you are rolling over and over in your mind? If you are battling with jealousy what thoughts have you allowed to take up residency in your mind?

If you feel your faith weakening what thoughts are you thinking? If you are fearful what thought…? If you having a good day what thoughts…? If you find yourself being critical and judgment what thoughts…?

Read Psalm 73 to get a real accurate picture of what I have been saying here. And don’t depend on your ability to blow out all the candles to make your wishes come true:) Study and meditate on God’s word which is a much better way to have a better day. Ask the Lord to put His thoughts into your mind.

Be Inspired Hilltop!

I love verse 26 of Ps 73. It says “my health may fail and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.
Thank you Jesus that You are mine forever.
