Hey faithful blog readers I am back from my motorcycle trip. We rode 3,700 miles and I am sure that I was smiling on every one of them:) Thank you for your prayers for protection and enjoyment, they were answered! I also thanked the Lord that He allowed me to ride in and enjoy this wonderful world that He has created.

Psalm 112:1 (NLT) — 1 Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands.

Here in this verse we have the cure for depression and unhappiness. It is when we have lost our praise that we have lost our joy and that usually happens when we have quit obeying the Lord.

Psalm 112:2 (NLT) — 2 Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed.

I am convinced that most of the ills in our society and most of the ills that people suffer from are because they didn’t have Psalm 112:1 parents.

Psalm 112:3 (NLT) — 3 They themselves will be wealthy, and their good deeds will last forever.

When we do our part God does His part. He sees that we will have all that we need and that our good deeds get passed on from generation to  generation.

Psalm 112:4 (NLT) — 4 Light shines in the darkness for the godly. They are generous, compassionate, and righteous.

Are you looking for direction in life? Right where you are now keep being generous, show compassion to all and live righteously and God will always open the next door that you are to walk through.

Psalm 112:5 (NLT) — 5 Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly.

You harvest what you plant. Be good about being generous and be good about being fair and good will come to you.

Psalm 112:6 (NLT) — 6 Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered.

Good always overcomes evil, always. Think of Jesus and never stop doing good no matter how evil things may look.

Psalm 112:7–8 (NLT) — 7 They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them. 8 They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly.

When you fear the Lord you don’t have to fear anything else.

Psalm 112:9–10 (NLT) — 9 They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor. 10 The wicked will see this and be infuriated. They will grind their teeth in anger; they will slink away, their hopes thwarted.

Have you gotten the idea from this chapter that the Lord absolutely is thrilled by generosity? And do you also see that the enemy cannot stand to be around goodness? So do you want to live free from the sting of evil; then be very generous in being good.

Be Inspired Hilltop!
