The Longer version of chapter 16 in Mark has a lot to say about unbelief.

Mark 16:9–11 (NLT) — 9 After Jesus rose from the dead early on Sunday morning, the first person who saw him was Mary Magdalene, the woman from whom he had cast out seven demons. 10 She went to the disciples, who were grieving and weeping, and told them what had happened. 11 But when she told them that Jesus was alive and she had seen him, they didn’t believe her.

Unbelief steals your joy.

Mark 16:12 (NLT) — 12 Afterward he appeared in a different form to two of his followers who were walking from Jerusalem into the country.

Unbelief keeps you from recognizing Jesus in your life. These were the two on the Emmaus Road.

Mark 16:12 (NLT) — 12 Afterward he appeared in a different form to two of his followers who were walking from Jerusalem into the country.

Unbelief keeps you in the doldrums.

Mark 16:14 (NLT) — 14 Still later he appeared to the eleven disciples as they were eating together. He rebuked them for their stubborn unbelief because they refused to believe those who had seen him after he had been raised from the dead.

Unbelief needs to be rebuked.

Mark 16:15 (NLT) — 15 And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.

Unbelief doesn’t have good news.

Mark 16:16 (NLT) — 16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned.

Unbelief if carried to the grave will lead to condemnation.

Mark 16:17 (NLT) — 17 These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages.

Unbelief nullifies the miraculous.

Mark 16:18 (NLT) — 18 They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”

Unbelief is boring and will lead to death.

“To believe or not to believe that is the question”:)

John 20:27 (NLT) — 27 Then he said to Thomas, “…Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!”

Be Inspired Hilltop!

P.S. I am going to be taking another motorcycle trip so I will not be doing the blog for the next couple of weeks. Keep me in your prayers. Love you all, Pastor Dan
