Psalm 68:1–2 (NLT) — 1 Rise up, O God, and scatter your enemies. Let those who hate God run for their lives. 2 Blow them away like smoke. Melt them like wax in a fire. Let the wicked perish in the presence of God.

When a hurricane hits like it just did a couple of days ago we make big deal out of it in the news. Every little detail gets reported. Every rescue mission is talked about. It is headline news for a few days before something else comes along that we make a big deal of.

Making a big deal out of a situation doesn’t make it go away. It doesn’t change the results. However when you make a big deal out of God in your life it does change things. If it doesn’t change your situation it changes you by increasing your faith. It keeps you attitude from falling into a pit. It puzzles those around you who don’t know God. It tells the unseen world to think twice about messing with you because you are always going to call on your heavenly Father, God for help. And you Dad is bigger and stronger and wiser than their dad:) So how do you make a big deal out of God?

Psalm 68:3–4 (NLT) — 3 But let the godly rejoice. Let them be glad in God’s presence. Let them be filled with joy. 4 Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the Lord— rejoice in his presence!

Worship Him. Talk to Him. Read about Him in the Word. Praise Him in song. Talk about Him to others. By doing this you situation will now look small in your eyes but you will look big in the enemies eyes. You will stand strong and firm while the enemy will melt away like wax > vs:2.

Psalm 68:5–6 (NLT) — 5 Father to the fatherless, defender of widows— this is God, whose dwelling is holy. 6 God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy. But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.

When we come to the Lord he puts us in a family which we call the Church. Now we have many family members who make God big in their eyes and we can call on them to battle with us. Now with all this fire power available to us we will not be defeated. So call on the Family to battle with you. Now read the rest of this psalm and see what making  big deal out of God does.

Everyone and everything bows to our Big God. Don’t make a bigger deal out of your job than God. Don’t make a bigger deal out of your kids than God. Don’t make a bigger deal out of sports than God. Don’t make a bigger deal out of your hobbies than God. Don’t make a bigger deal out of shopping than God. Don’t make a bigger out of entertainment than God. Don’t make a bigger deal out of the use of your time than God; unless it is used for the glory of God.  Make a big deal out of God and what goes on in your life won’t be that big of a deal:)
