If your mood is effected by the weather than chances are you have not been in the best of moods lately. I mean what is there to be happy about right? The average temperature this time of the year is around 60 degrees. We usually are usually enjoying the fall colors of the leaves, outdoor football and fall motorcycle rides. Ah but for the last two weeks the temperatures have been in the 20’s to low 4o’s with very little sun, a lot of wind and mostly steady rain and yesterday we even got a little bit of snow.

Florida, however has it worse than we do because they are in the middle of Hurricane Michael with its wind speeds up to 12omph.

So in the midst of all this bad weather we read today:

Psalm 98:1 (NLT) — 1 Sing a new song to the Lord, for he has done wonderful deeds. His right hand has won a mighty victory; his holy arm has shown his saving power!

It is like the Psalmist anticipated that we might need a little cheering up so he tells us to start singing. Why does he tell us to start singing; because the God that we serve, the one we call our heavenly Father has never been defeated. There has never been a battle where Father God has come out on the losing end. His right hand indicates that even if he had one hand tied behind his back he would still win! He wins all of His battles single-handedly.

The greatest battle that he won was for us. He saved us from the power of Satan by having His son Jesus take the best blows that Satan had. These blow were meant for us but Jesus stepped in and saved us. So when you find yourself sliding into the cold hands of gloom and doom do as the Psalmist says > sing because you are on the winning side!

I understand that the weather in heaven is perfect and one day we will be enjoying it.

Be Inspired Hilltop!

    I can’t wait!!!

  2. Me either! In the book, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, by C. S. Lewis, the land of Narnia is stuck in winter mode because of the evil queen. Just think of that. What a horrible curse, right? But Aslan had the victory all along and the land returned to it’s original Garden of Eden state. Would hell be any worse if it would be too cold instead of too hot…really? I sure don’t think so. But God has won the victory over winter…with one hand! Spring is coming guys. I’m working hard at encouraging myself through this nasty weather though. It means singing 24/7:)

The view of the temperature of hell is based on experience. In warmer climates, middle eastern or Medatrainian, it is hot and hell is hotter. In northern regions it us cold and hell is colder.
