Did you notice that the whole chapter of Luke was centered on the subject of prayer?
Luke 18:1-8 The Widow > The pray-er needs to be persistent.
Luke 18:9-14 The Pharisee & Tax Collector > The pray-er needs to be humble.
Luke 18:15-17 The Children > The pray-er needs to have child like faith.
Luke 18:18-30 The Rich Man > The pray-er needs to be obedient to the Word.
Luke 18:31-34 Jesus’ Death > The pray-er needs to be prepared for spiritual opposition.
Luke 18:35-43 The Blind Beggar > The pray-er needs to be specific.
Jesus is looking for prayers.
Mark 11:17 (NLT) — 17 He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.”
Matthew 21:13 (NLT) — 13 He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves!”
Luke 19:46 (NLT) — 46 He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.”
Jesus is looking for pray-ers.
