I haven’t yet decided on a set schedule for scripture reading this year. I will be reading some in the Psalms, Proverbs for sure. I will post some thoughts that I have during my reading. For today:

Psalm 19:1–6 (NLT) — 1 The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. 2 Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. 3 They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. 4 Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun. 5 It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race. 6 The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat.

I began to pray these verses like this. Father help me to proclaim your awesomeness throughout the day in my thoughts and actions. Help me to show that I am thrilled with the life you have given me. Let me display your craftsmanship because you have stated that I am your masterpiece. Help me to believe that I am a masterpiece and that you were genuinely thrilled when you formed me. I want to be a masterpiece that displays your grace and goodness to others.

Father help me to speak of Jesus wherever I am and to always make Him known. Father I do have words so help me to use the right words at the right time. May I have a grateful heart so that my words come out graciously and gratefully. Help my words to come forth showing that I am one who cares and not one who is judgmental. Let me behave as someone who is absolutely thrilled that you have made a home for me in the heavens.

Help me to live for you each day with the devotion of a bridegroom for his bride and the determination and eagerness that an athlete has for winning. Holy Spirit help me to rise each day and shine for you as guide me into the truth from start to finish. Help me not to hide from boldly living for you. Help me not to cover up the fact that I am a follower of Jesus. I love you Father:)

Be Inspired Hilltop!

I hope this spurs you on to pray God’s word. Your pray life will never be boring and you will not be saying the same things over and over when you pray scripture.
