God said that the heavens were his throne and the earth His footstool. (Isaiah 66:1). We serve a Big God so I am going to pray a Big Prayer using the following verses from Psalm 19.

Psalm 19:7 (NLT) — 7 The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

Father I now pray for all Americans. I know that the souls of all Americans need to be revived. They need to be renewed to the life that you can give. So I pray that you will draw all of us to your Word. May we all see that the instructions of your Word are perfect; that there are no flaws in it. May all of us Americans see how your Word can be trusted and how your Word gives us the wisdom that we so desperately need. May we realize that even the simplest among us can become wise through your Word. May your ways and your saving power be known to all of us Americans.

Psalm 19:8 (NLT) — 8 The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.

I pray that you will open the eyes of us Americans so that we can see how right on your commandments are and how they bring joy to our hearts. May we see the insight that your Word gives for living life to its fullest. Father give us Americans clear vision of your Word. Don’t let anything or anybody cloud that vision. May we see clearly from your Word how you desire us to live out our lives.

Psalm 19:9 (NLT) — 9 Reverence for the Lord is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair.

May your Word humble us Americans so that we will stand in awe of you, that the fear of the Lord will rest upon us. Father when our wills meet your will may we humbly submit to carrying out your will. May we truly see that your Word is truth, that it is just, fair and righteous. May we be diligent to pass on this fear of the Lord from generation to generation until Jesus comes back.

Psalm 19:10 (NLT) — 10 They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb.

Father may your Word change the desires of our hearts so that nothing is more desirable to us than your Word. May the desire for riches and things lose its pull on us. May we Americans be drawn to your Word as flies are drawn to honey. May your Word bring sweetness to our souls.

Psalm 19:11 (NLT) — 11 They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them.

May we Americans see the dangers that will present themselves if we choose to ignore your Word. May we also see the wisdom in obeying your Word.

Psalm 19:12 (NLT) — 12 How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults.

Father may your Word point out to us the sins that hide within. May we be a people that are quick to repent of those sins and trust that the blood of Jesus has cleansed us of all sin. May we rejoice in your forgiveness and may we be a people who are quick to forgive others.

Psalm 19:13 (NLT) — 13 Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin.

Father I pray that us Americans will hide your Word in our hearts so that we will not sin against you. Holy Spirit help us not to be controlled by sin. Don’t let willful sin dominate us. Let us live as a free innocent people whose trust is in you.

Psalm 19:14 (NLT) — 14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Father help us Americans to be conscious of the thoughts that we think and the words that we speak. Help us to choose our words wisely. Holy Spirit continually fill us with the love of the Father because we know that the mouth speaks of what is in the heart.(Matthew 12:34). Father may you be the foundation that us Americans build our lives upon. May we be eternally grateful that you have bought us back to yourself with the precious blood of Jesus. May your praise be continually on our lips.

Father I know that this was a Big Prayer. But you are a Big God; in fact you said that we should ask for the nations (Psalm 2:8) and you would give that as an inheritance. And so today Father I am asking for America. Thank you Father. I love you.
