Proverbs 12:1 (NLT) — 1 To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction.

To improve you must be willing to be corrected. Only a stupid person will not receive correction. Stupid = dumb animal. It is stupid to reject correction because it is the very thing designed to guard the person from making mistakes in the future. It is like a person not taking the very medicine that will heal him just because it tastes bad. This person is an enemy to himself and a killer of his happiness. One characteristic of people who refuse to be corrected is pride and you know what you know that pride goes before the fall.(proverbs 16:18)

Father I pray today that you will give me a heart that is always open to be corrected. I pray that I will not rebel against this correction. Father bring people into my life that will not be afraid to speak the truth to me. Help me to love and respect those people. Father help me to walk humbly before you and receive correction from your word as I read and study it. Help me to be quick to make the necessary corrections and not put them off. May your word find a home in my heart and correct any wrong thinking that I might have which would harm me, harm others, and tarnish your name.

Father I pray that you will raise up people to speak truth to the leaders of every nation in this world. I pray that these leaders would humbly receive the truth and be willing to make the necessary corrections. Father I pray that you would raise up people to speak truth into the ears of our president, his cabinet, our congress men and women, our Supreme court justices and all people with authority in these United States. Father that the truth would be spoken to all Americans and that we Americans would be quick to change course and make corrections; that we might live peaceful and godly lives marked by godliness and dignity. Thank you Father.
