I sense the urge to pray again in this blog. I pray that you sense it to.

Isaiah 40:11 (NLT) — 11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.

Heavenly Father thank you that you are always on hand to nourish us, carry us, hold us and gently lead  us. It truly is because of you that we live and move and have our being!

Isaiah 40:12 (NLT) — 12 Who else has held the oceans in his hand? Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers? Who else knows the weight of the earth or has weighed the mountains and hills on a scale?

Father you truly have no equal. Knowing that you can hold the oceans strengthens my faith to know that you are holding me and that nothing can grab me out of your hands. I love the security that you bring into my life. I thank you that nothing can baffle you, not even the dimensions of the heavens or the weight of the world; you know it all. So I know that what ever my be stumping me it will not stump you.

Isaiah 40:13 (NLT) — 13 Who is able to advise the Spirit of the Lord? Who knows enough to give him advice or teach him?

Father I thank you that you do not need our advice for then you wouldn’t be much of a God. As I look out over the condition that the world is in, that America is in, that Fergus Falls is in, it becomes quite apparent that we need your advice. Father I pray that the leaders of the nations, the leaders of America, the leaders of Fergus Falls would humble themselves and call upon you for your advice. I pray that you would prompt them to do that. I pray that you would put your thoughts into their minds and that they would take your advice to heart that we might all live at peace and with dignity bringing honor to your name.

Isaiah 40:14 (NLT) — 14 Has the Lord ever needed anyone’s advice? Does he need instruction about what is good? Did someone teach him what is right or show him the path of justice?

Father I thank you that you know what is truly good, what is truly right and what is perfectly just. Again may all the nations call upon you so that our whole world may experience true goodness, true rightness and true justice.

Isaiah 40:15 (NLT) — 15 No, for all the nations of the world are but a drop in the bucket. They are nothing more than dust on the scales. He picks up the whole earth as though it were a grain of sand.

O Father that we would not think to highly of ourselves than we ought to. Help us all to realize what a Big God you are. May we all live in awe of you. May we be saturated with a reverence for you. May we always look up to you and live in humbleness before you. Again Father thank you for being God. The sheer magnitude of you brings joy, safety and confidence to my heart.

Isaiah 40:16 (NLT) — 16 All the wood in Lebanon’s forests and all Lebanon’s animals would not be enough to make a burnt offering worthy of our God.

Father help us all to realize that we can never worship you enough and that our own efforts at righteousness fall far short of your glory. You are worthy of us all. Father may the way we live be an offering that sends up a sweet aroma to you.

Isaiah 40:17 (NLT) — 17 The nations of the world are worth nothing to him. In his eyes they count for less than nothing— mere emptiness and froth.

Father I want to thank you that because of Jesus we have worth. That because of Jesus we are your masterpieces and we do count for something. That because of Jesus we are filled with the Holy Spirit and we bear His fruit. That because of Jesus we have substance and stability and we are not as weak as froth.
