Psalm 48:14 (NLT) — 14 For that is what God is like. He is our God forever and ever, and he will guide us until we die.

Smile we are heading into the weekend! When it works out my buddy Mel and I have coffee a Caribou on Friday afternoon. That evening Cleo and I hang out and sometimes order in a pizza and watch a movie. Saturday morning finds me at Hilltop praying with a bunch of guys from 8-9am. Then it is on to Big Chief for breakfast and fellowship. Saturday night you might find Cleo and I at the Legion having ribs with our good friends Mel and Mary Anne. Sunday morning is always set aside to worship with our Hilltop family and then it is on to Big Chief for a wonderful meal of comfort food:) And then weather permitting riding bicycle with my granddaughters.

Sadly the weekends don’t last forever but neither do the week days. 🙂 In fact what can we say forever and ever about except our God? Life here isn’t forever. Marriage won’t last forever, businesses, as seen in Fergus Falls, don’t last forever, Republican or Democrat majorities don’t last forever, my van isn’t going to last forever, my sports teams will not be champions forever, Donald Trump will not be able to tweet forever, astronauts don’t stay in space forever, no one can tread water forever, this winter won’t last forever, the paint on my house won’t last forever. I think you get the point.

But with God we can enjoy his goodness, forgiveness, unfailing love, grace, mercy, compassion, provision, protection, righteousness, holiness, longsuffering, patience, joy and happiness forever and ever! Faith in Jesus which leads to salvation is forever because God is forever. God’s guidance is forever because God is forever. Heaven is forever because God is forever.

So as you head into the weekend rejoice in our forever God and with enthusiasm tell someone about our Forever God.

Isaiah 40:6–8 (NLT) — 6 A voice said, “Shout!” I asked, “What should I shout?” “Shout that people are like the grass. Their beauty fades as quickly as the flowers in a field. 7 The grass withers and the flowers fade beneath the breath of the Lord. And so it is with people. 8 The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.”
